Omar Mercuri is originally from Italy, where he gained his five-year degree in psychology from the University of Rome, La Sapienza.  Following his internship as an organisational psychologist, he decided to continue his post-graduate studies overseas in London and then Australia.

Omar initially worked in supporting clients dealing with substance and behavioural addictions. He is experienced in working with clients affected by post-traumatic stress disorder and complex trauma. He utilises cognitive behavioural therapy, schema therapy, and motivational interviewing to aid individuals in their recovery. His training also includes specialised trauma interventions such as EMDR, exposure therapy, psycho-dynamic therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy.

Omar’s client base spans all age groups, including adolescents and adults facing a range of mental health difficulties. From anxiety and depression to personality and dissociative disorders, he approaches each person with flexibility and a client-centred focus, always prioritising their needs and adhering to best practices in the field.

Omar focuses on trauma, complex cases and enjoys using EMDR, imagery rescripting and schema therapy to aid in his clients healing and overall wellbeing.
