Kristy has over 15 years’ experience working as a psychologist in Australia and New Zealand across a variety of settings including private practice, non-government organisations and universities providing direct client care as well as clinical supervision, advocacy, and training. Kristy gained her Psychology Honours at The University of Queensland and a Master of Science in Behavioural Studies in Health at The University of Southern Queensland.

Kristy has a strong interest in integrative medicine and has completed a graduate certificate in nutrition at Deakin University, a certificate program in Nutritional Psychology at JFK University and further postgraduate study with the Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM).

Kristy is also a registered Therapeutic Horticulture Practitioner and is an advocate for people spending time in green spaces along with other lifestyle practices to support their wellbeing.

Kristy has extensive experience working with adults of diverse backgrounds and enjoys working with adults struggling with the impacts of stress and burnout, women’s health, eco-anxiety, low self-esteem/confidence, social anxiety, body image and binge eating, adjustment to parenting or major life events, grief, relationship concerns, depression, anxiety, trauma, and acculturation stress.

Approach

Kristy takes a holistic and collaborative approach in her work. Her diverse professional experience and her passion for integrative medicine means she is interested in understanding client’s struggles from a whole-person perspective – exploring the role of lifestyle factors such as nutrition, movement, sleep, nature, stress and relationships, as well as an individual’s personal history, culture and psychology.

Kristy has a down to earth and gentle style – well suited to those who describe themselves as introverted, shy or sensitive. She understands the importance of feeling safe before being willing to share one’s story – and is dedicated to creating a space in which clients feel seen and heard. Her appreciation of diversity and her years of experience allow Kristy to weave evidence-based approaches to address clients concerns that feels natural and supportive.

When she is not supporting clients or running training, you can find Kristy with her hands in the soil or cooking from her kitchen garden with her family on Jinibara Country.
